Green - New Style of Living?
April 22nd, 2008
The other day I saw a movie on OLN Canada where Les Stroud (Survivorman fame) set up a house for his family somewhere in a forest with express a purpose of living “green”.
They installed 3 solar panels, wind turbine and dug out a well. For heating they use an old-fashioned way - a wood stove. All of these seem to work pretty well.
Here are the movie fragments:
And another one
I guess many people would find interesting this style of living.
What do you think?

In the near future we have to find some ways to change our lifestyles to a more environmentally friendly and start to reconsider the fact that we actually have something that is called “nature” out there and we can use this fact to our advantage and live better and healthier lives.
This does not mean we all have to move back into the forest but a few adjustments even to life in the cities can make a difference.
I believe that the first step is to create awareness of the status our planet is in and get people to realize that we have to do something about it.
This is exactly how I see the future. It sounds like sensation if somebody has decided to live in this way but actually green lifestyle is really becoming to be a trend in Canada. I am working as a realtor in some Toronto neighbourhoods and I can see that many houses are going at least partly green. Sun collectors are not so unusual in Toronto anymore. I have also prepared a section about green lifestyle on my webpage.
